Round Tube Dies for Portabender Tube and Pipe Bender
These dies fit the Pro-Tools Portabender Tube and Pipe Benders for bending round tubing with a maximum degree of bend of 90 degrees after springback. Our "What am I bending?" page is a useful tool if you're not sure what the difference between tube and pipe is.
Pay close attention to the following terms (for more information on these terms, see our "Tube and Pipe Bending Basics" page) :
OD: Refers to the actual Outside Diameter of the tube as measured with a caliper.
CLR: stands for Center Line Radius, meaning the bend radius as measured from the apex of the bend to the middle of the tubing.
Minimum Wall: This column represents the minimum recommended wall thicknesses for bending D.O.M. mild steel or 4130 chromoly. ERW (HREW or CREW) has thin spots which may cause a bending problem. We recommend going up one wall thickness when bending these types of tubing. (For example: the minumum wall thickness for a 1" O.D. die with a CLR of 3" is 0.065" when bending D.O.M. If you want to bend ERW tubing, we recommend using at least 0.083" for best results.) For any other types of material, call our tech department at +1 (813) 986-9000.
Maximum Wall: The maximum wall thickness that the machine is rated for.
